This ship entered the history of aeronautics in making July 2010 the first flight of 24 hours without interruption, and only powered by solar panels and batteries.
Payerne, Switzerland .- The Solar Impulse experimental aircraft took off on Friday the military airport in Payerne Swiss (west) to make its first international flight, which will take you through the evening in Brussels, Belgium.
The Swiss Bertrand Piccard ship took off under blue skies at 6.40 am GMT, with more than two hours late due to a slight haze. Solar Impulse
entered the history of aeronautics in making July 2010 the first flight of 24 hours without interruption, and only powered by solar panels and batteries.
For Solar Impulse team, the first international flight bound Brussels airport where you arrive at 19.00 GMT, is also "a great technical challenge."
The revolutionary aircraft will be in Brussels from 23 to 29 May. Will travel to Le Bourget airport in Paris as "special guest" of the 49th International Exhibition of Aeronautics and space, to be held from 20 to 26 June.
